‘AMERICAN TEENAGER’ TOUR BRINGS STORIES OF TRANS YOUTH TO SAVANNAH– FEBRUARY 11, 2026

SAVANNAH, GA – February 10 2026 –On Wednesday, February 11, 2026 from 6:30–7:30 p.m.at Asbury Memorial Church, award-winning journalist and author Nico Lang will visit Savannah as part of a landmark six-city Georgia tour for their national bestselling book, “American Teenager: How Trans Kids Are Surviving Hate and Finding Joy in a Turbulent Era.”

“American Teenager” follows the lives of eight youth across diverse backgrounds—from Texas churches to Illinois mosques—painting a vivid portrait of adolescence, resilience, and joy. Lang, who spent a year traveling the U.S. to conduct hundreds of hours of interviews, continues to champion the rights and freedoms of trans youth with their book tour.

“Our book uplifts the stories of trans youth across the country, and I am doing just about everything I can do to make their voices heard,” said Lang.

The event features an author reading, a community Q&A session, and a book signing. This tour stop aims to provide a platform for stories that are often underrepresented, moving beyond political headlines to center on the lived experiences of transgender and nonbinary youth.

Nico Lang is a nonbinary journalist and the creator of “Queer News Daily.” Their work has appeared in The New York Times, Rolling Stone, and The Washington Post. “American Teenager” is a 2025 Stonewall Book Award Honoree.

The Savannah stop is presented in collaboration with 3rd Space Savannah, inviting the community to explore how local allies can uplift and support queer youth so they can thrive rather than just survive.
