BLOG – DECEMBER 2024 – LOOKING BACK AND LOOKING FORWARD TO 2025
It is hard to believe that 2025 is almost here! As I reflect on 2024, a great year at LFPR, I look forward to what is to come in the new year. We have had much to celebrate this year with the news that our recently promoted Digital Media Manager, Catherine, got engaged and that our Account Director Allie and her husband Austin are expecting a baby boy in February. There are also some new faces at LFPR. Kelsey Hines joined us as an intern and has become a part time Marketing Assistant who will graduate from Georgia Southern University in May 2025, earning her Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies. We are also looking forward to welcoming two new interns in January: Brittany Lynch as our new Marketing Intern and Gracie Sasser as our Digital Media Intern.
It has been a busy fall and winter with the appointment of LFPR to help launch Lowcountry Shakespeare, Savannah’s new performing arts company, which debuted its immersive retelling of Romeo and Juliet in November. Many of our clients have had amazing festive events including the City of Port Wentworth’s inaugural Christmas Parade followed by the annual Tree Lighting ceremony. Their Parks and Recreation Department really deserves its recent GRPA-Hawks Partnership Grant which will directly fund the youth basketball season and the team at the city really are making Port Wentworth become Chatham County’s place to “Live, Experience and Thrive”. There have been lots of other fun client events to attend with Coastal Heritage Society’s annual “Santa Train”, Savannah African Art Museum’s Kwanzaa Marketplace, Christ Church Episcopal ’s Joy of Christmas concert and Savannah VOICE Festival’s “Holiday Classic Concert: An Evening with Liz Baldwin”.
Our long-standing client, Savannah Classical Academy (SCA) now has its lottery open for students for the 2025-26 school year and continues to excel as it was recently recognized by Georgia’s Department of Education as both a ‘Literacy Leader’ and ‘Math Leader’ school.
We are looking forward to Sherrill Milnes’ year of milestones as this legendary opera baritone celebrates his 90th birthday, the 60th anniversary of his debut at the Metropolitan Opera and the 25th anniversary of the Milnes VOICE Programs in 2025. Next week, we will experience the world premiere of The Eleanors on January 3 and 5 at Savannah’s First Baptist Church, during the NATS/NOA conference. After that, it will soon be time for Black History Month celebrations organized by the City of Port Wentworth and at The Savannah African Art Museum before heading into a busy Spring.
Until next time – Happy New Year!
