BLOG – MAY 2024 – LOOKING FORWARD TO SUMMER
- LFPR
The temperatures are heating up and we are looking forward to a great summer at LFPR! This year has been full of exciting news, and we have welcomed new team members and new clients. Earlier this year, Katelynn Santiago joined LFPR as our Graphic Designer. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architectural Studies from the University of Arkansas, and after getting some industry graphic design experience, Katelynn returned to school to earn her Master of Fine Arts in Design Management from Savannah College of Art and Design where she learned about the business side of design. At LFPR, she designs logos, presentations, adverts, and graphics, and supports other team members on various accounts.
We are thrilled to have been appointed by two dynamic local businesses in time for the summer season. Veteran owned and operated Moon River Pool Care is committed to the employment of veterans and supporting the community in which it lives and works. Founded by veteran, Ion Bratianu, the company has recently expanded to offer six highly trained Certified Pool Operators (CPO), with over 14 years’ experience and the company is accredited by the Pool and Hot Tub Alliance. Award-winning food tour company, Flavors Food Tours, has chosen LFPR to represent them in Savannah to launch ‘progressive dining with a difference’ historic cultural food tours. Business owner and founder of Flavors Food Tours, Leslie Wiggins, founded the first food tour in the Caribbean: Flavors of San Juan Food and Culture Tours in 2009. Quickly growing to the number one ranked culinary tour in San Juan, Flavors Food Tours expanded into St. Thomas in 2016. Now, Wiggins has returned to her native Georgia to launch Flavors Food Tours – Savannah to honor her family’s home of Savannah, GA.
We have promoted and enjoyed Coastal Heritage Society’s annual “Art and Oysters” fundraising event which was a truly magical evening at Pin Point Heritage Museum. We also worked in partnership with Mary’s Place (formerly Rape Crisis Center of the Coastal Empire) to organize and promote community events and initiatives as part of April’s Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The Solidarity Walk offered community members a unique opportunity to join in the effort to end sexual violence, show their support for survivors, and raise awareness of the programs and services offered by Mary’s Place. There was a great turnout for the training initiative for professionals at the “Recharge. Reset. Respond” – A Responders Summit on Sexual Assault. At the end of the month, we all enjoyed the second annual
“Find Your Voice” Lip Sync Competition at Victory North. This innovative fundraising event raised valuable funds as guests enjoyed delicious food and cocktails, a silent auction, and a chance to enjoy the teams competing for the 2024 ‘Find Your Voice’ awards. April also saw the return of the Savannah Challenger tennis tournament at Skidaway Island.
Our long-standing client, Savannah Classical Academy (SCA) was recently recognized for its excellence as their Elementary and Middle schools have been ranked as ‘Best’ in the state of Georgia by the independent 2024’s US NEWS and World Report. Savannah Classical Academy Charter School is ranked #290 in Georgia Elementary Schools and #204 in Georgia Middle Schools. Well deserved congratulations to CEO Barry Lollis and his team at SCA!
We are looking forward to the 200 Club’s return to the hostess city’s historic district for the 2024 Savanah Mile during National Law Enforcement Appreciation Week. This nonprofit organization relies on funds raised during the Savannah Mile to continue to provide support to the families of fallen first responders. Georgia Institute of Technology’s 10th International Physical Internet Conference (IPIC) is taking place in Savannah later this month and then it will soon be time for Juneteenth celebrations organized by the City of Port Wentworth and at The Savannah African Art Museum.
Until next time – enjoy your Summer!
