THE CITY OF PORT WENTWORTH KICKED OFF FRONT PORCH FRIDAYS SERIES
The City of Port Wentworth kicked off its Front Porch Friday Series on July 12, behind City Hall, located at 7224 Highway 21, Port Wentworth, GA 31407. The evening consisted of a special performance by Will & The Exclamation and lots of fun.
MEGATEETH FOSSILS CELEBRATED 'SHARK WEEK'
Prehistoric sharks were at the forefront this summer, as Discovery Channel’s “Shark Week” was celebrated July 7th – 13th. Families could experience ‘Shark Week’ with the added thrill of prehistoric shark teeth fossils thanks to Bill Eberlein, the founder of MegaTeeth Fossils. With over 25 years of diving experience, Eberlein dives day-in and day-out in the waters of Coastal Georgia in search of Megalodon shark teeth, the dinosaurs of the seas, and shares his vast collection of fossils with those wanting to take a bite out of ‘Shark Week’.
200 CLUB BOSTON BUTT PURCHASE PICK UP
The 200 Club held its annual Fourth of July Boston Butt sale to benefit the families of fallen first responders this summer.
MOON RIVER POOL CARE CELEBRATES OPENING OF NEW LOCATION
Moon River Pool Care (MRPC) officially opened its new Savannah location on National Swimming Pool Day, with a ribbon cutting hosted by the Savannah Chamber of Commerce. Veteran owned and operated, MRPC’s new facility is located at 2740 Ogeechee Road in Savannah and offers extensive repair and maintenance services. Customers can drop off equipment requiring repair or stop by for information about the company’s weekly pool service options for their home or business.
THE CITY OF PORT WENTWORTH HELD A FOURTH OF JULY-THEMED SKATE NIGHT
On Friday, July 19, the City of Port Wentworth held a Red, White, and Blue Skate Night from 6-9 PM.
FAMILY PROMISE OF THE COASTAL EMPIRE HOSTED 12TH ANNUAL “RED HOT CHILI PEPPER RACE”
Runners of all skill levels and ages were invited for an exciting evening of family-friendly racing at this year’s Red Hot Chili Pepper Race on Friday, July 26, 2024, at JF Gregory Park, Richmond Hill, GA. Georgia Game Changers hosted the 12th annual run, benefiting Family Promise of the Coastal Empire.
PORT WENTWORTH LEISURE SERVICES DAY
Leisure Services Day was a day filled with fun, family, good food, games, and more! Port Wentworth Leisure Services partnered with the Heart Festival, hosted by Mayor Pro Tem and Council Women Gabby Nelson. This was not a day you wanted to miss!

The City of Port Wentworth will continue its Front Porch Friday Series on August 9 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM behind City Hall, located at 7224 Highway 21, Port Wentworth, GA 31407. The evening will consist of a special performance by The Dickens EPK and lots of fun. Bring a chair to sit back and relax or enjoy the night dancing!
THE CITY OF PORT WENTWORTH LEISURE SERVICES TO CONTINUE OUTDOOR MOVIE NIGHT – AUGUST 17
Port Wentworth Leisure Services Presents: Movie Nights – Under the Stars! Join the City of Port Wentworth on Saturday, August 17, for a special showing of Top Gun Maverick. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy this special outdoor screening as Maverick takes flight once again on the big screen!

THE OLUKAI LOWCOUNTRY BOIL PADDLE BATTLE TO BENEFIT THE OUTSIDE FOUNDATION – SEPTEMBER 6-8
The OluKai Lowcountry Boil Paddle Battle is proud to partner with the USA SUP National Championships for three incredible days of competitions, as well as a reunion and memorable gathering for the SUP community on Hilton Head Island. All race proceeds will benefit The Outside Foundation and their Kids In Kayaks scholarship fund. The Kids In Kayaks program is a fun-filled field trip for 7th graders in Beaufort County. Students spend half the day kayaking, and the other half in dockside activities that offer hands-on, science-based learning.
