HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC – OCTOBER 3, 2023 – Outside Brands has joined forces with SERG Restaurant Group along with other local businesses for the 2023 SERG Star Readers Challenge. This local initiative is in its 4th year and encourages literacy in young readers of the low country by rewarding youth with amazing prizes when they complete an assortment of reading challenges. Local businesses, such as One Hot Mama’s, Legendary Golf and Outside Brands are championing this initiative by providing prizes that will inspire participation. As a sponsor, Outside Brands has donated exciting experiences ranging from dolphin tours to private boat excursions for those participating in the competition.
The SERG Star Readers Challenge launched on September 1 and will continue through October 31, with readers ages 0-18 earning rewards for each of the 5 Star Reading Levels completed. Those who complete all Star Reading Levels and Bonus Level will be entered into a drawing to win one of three $1,000 SC Future Scholar 529 Scholarships. In addition, the class whose teacher is most named on submitted reading logs will win a party for their entire class aboard Outside Hilton Head’s Luxurious Ohana catamaran.
